September has seen an exciting development here at Doorfit, as the company achieved accreditation from leading industry body Checkatrade.com.
A vital directory that recommends trusted and approved traders, Checkatrade helps customers to check on the reputation and quality of a company before deciding to call on their services, while also giving them the peace of mind that the business they are considering has passed a number of stringent accreditation checks.
As of the 6th of the month, Doorfit received our recommended, vetted and monitored (RVM) status from Checkatrade – a grade achieved by submitting five or more feedback cards from customers – with a Level One membership position.
Checkatrade accreditation tells potential customers that our practices have been fully scrutinised, as the vetting process includes thorough checks of all the necessary requirements and only genuine professionals will pass.
These checks include:
– Qualifications for evidence that we can undertake the work
– Proof of Public Liability insurance and applicable insurance coverage as employers
– 2 utility bills to confirm the address of the business
– Confirmation that we allow Checkatrade to discuss our business with Trading Standards
– Details of between 6 and 10 previous customers from the last 12 months who can act as referees
– An agreement of Checkatrade’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
– A full credit check on our financial history
The accreditation entitles us to a full listing and report on the Checkatrade site that our customers are able to view, detailing both the full nature of the business, as well as various testimonials and references from past work to give a more rounded idea of the quality of service and products we can offer (some have been included below as an example!) The site also provides future customers with a space to leave feedback, automatically alerting us at Doorfit when they do so.
A freephone 0800 number is also supplied so that customers can call Checkatrade for an up-to-the-minute appraisal on Doorfit, giving them the information they need to determine whether or not they will choose to use our services, and the site will continually check in with us to ensure that our high standards are being maintained (no problems there!)
Many use Checkatrade.com to search for businesses in specific sectors, meaning that Doorfit will now appear when searches for ‘garage doors’, ‘locksmiths’ and the like are carried out. Since its inception in 1998, the site has collected over almost a million reports from customers, making it the biggest and most reliable database of its type; one that Doorfit are proud to be a part of.
